Allan Ranger ^7,8

  General Notes:

Born in Tunbridge Wells went to school locally. Worked as a cycle mechanic at Halfords. Joined the RAF and trained as an airframe mechanic served in Malaya.
On leaving RAF worked for a time at Groombridge's Cross In Hand, Sussex as a motor cycle mechanic. Later as a sheet metal worker making air conditioning equipment. Latterly as an estimator and surveyor for East Grinstead Glass a double glazing company. Retired Earlin 1999. A keen golf player. Lived in Crowborough with his wife Sheila. They had two children Paul and Judith and two grandchildren. In August 1999 was suddenly taken ill with an aneurysm in the brain, had at least three operations and seemed to be on the mend. Suddenly his health deteriorated and was re admitted to Kings College Hospital, where he rapidly declined and sadly he died from a brain disease, possibly a virus.
The cause of death has never been satisfactorily explained and the family are still concerned about the treatment he received whilst in hospital and the lack of communication by the medical staff.
