We do not know what Edward was doing in Leigh. Was probably an Agricultural Labourer. there is nothing recorded of him in the parish or parish chest records other than the baptism of his children.
The census of 1841 shows Edward aged approximately 60. A Team Man, probably means he managed a team of horses on the farm. He was living in Lower Street with his wife Mary and four of their children.
