General Notes:
on the 1st instant , at Mayfield, as Colonel Becker of tunbridge Wells , was in the act of putting a percussion cap on his gun, it unfortunately exploded at the moment his marker named Fenner was passing the muzzle. The poor fellow received the full contents of the charge through his body, exclaiming I am shot ! pray for me !, and almost instantly expired leaving a wife and large family to lament this distressing occurence
